Overview

  • Day 1 – Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the morning, later transfer by The Age Safaris driver to Entebbe International Airport (+/- 15 minutes) for a scheduled flight to Kidepo Valley National Park Estimated depart time 8am. Evening game drive / walk. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge
  • Day 2 – Game activities in Kidepo and visit to Lorukul Village Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge
  • Day 3 – Thursday, 4th April 2019 Early morning breakfast. Pickup by our guide who will transfer you to Bakers Lodge (+/-8 hours).
  • Day 4 – Morning game drive to Northern side of the park. Afternoon boat excursion in Murchison Falls National Park, Hike to the Top of the falls.
  • Day 5 – Saturday, 6th April 2019 Early morning breakfast, transfer by road (-/+8hours) to Fort portal with a packed lunch from Bakers lodge to Kyaninga lodge.
  • Day 6 – Morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park (+/- 1 hours). Later drive to Bigodi for a swamp walks and then lunches at Ndali Lodge to then drive to Semliki Wildlife Reserve for 2h30 hours. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge
  • Day 7 - Sunrise boat trip on Lake Albert to view the endangered Shoebill. Evening sundowner-game activity. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge
  • Day 8 – Early morning Breakfast, Transfer to Semliki airstrip for a scheduled flight to Kisoro (07h45/09h30). Meet and greet with the lodge representative to transfer by road to Sheba’s Camp where guests will embark on a boat cruise on Lake Mutanda for about +/- 2 hours. (the boat cruise is weather dependent) After return to your vehicle and proceed to Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge in the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We will have a picnic lunch before proceed to Clouds. In the afternoon go for the Buniga Forest Walk and visit the Batwa Community. Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge
  • Day 9 – Full day Gorilla tracking. In the evening, you will enjoy a traditional dance at Clouds in the evening. Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

  • Day 1 – Welcome To Entebbe

  • Day 2 – Journey To Kibale Forest National Park
    After a sumptuous breakfast in Kampala, we drive west, taking in the scenic views as we head to Fort Portal, a beautiful quaint town nestled in the shadow of the legendary and mystical “Mountains of the Moon.” Enjoy a short respite in this charming town before moving on to the idyllic formations of the crater lakes. From Fort Portal, we set course for the forests of Kibale National Park. Meal Plan: Half-Board
  • Day 3 – Chimpanzee Tracking | Bigodi Swamp Walk
    The evergreen Kibale Forest holds a wide variety of primates in East Africa. On our carefully guided nature walk, we encounter chimpanzee, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, interact with the local communities and so much more. We return to our lodge for lunch and later set out to Bigodi Swamp, an ideal place for bird lovers. After a satisfying day of exploration, we return to our lodge in time for dinner.   • Day 4 – Through The Scenic Crater Lakes & Into Queen Elisabeth National Park
    We check out of our lodge and head out for a brief tour of Lake Nkuruba, where we will see magnificent views of the vibrant crater lakes, cradled in vegetation and gentle rolling hills. After lunch, we head toward the iconic Queen Elizabeth National Park just in time for an evening game drive. Chances are we see warthogs, buffalo, waterbucks and elephants before checking in for a night of comfort at Mweya Safari Lodge. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 5 – Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise
    The crisp morning opens with a game drive to seek out various game; this is a great opportunity for wildlife sightings as animals tend to be more active in the wee hours. We return from our adventure in the beautiful savannah to some much-needed relaxation and lunch before we head out on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Hippos, crocodiles, and other mammals, reptiles, and birds congregate at the shores in the afternoon heat. We will take in the scenic views before returning to the lodge in time for dinner.   • Day 6 – Through Ishasha & Into The Impenetrable Forrest
    Today we depart from Queen Elizabeth, but not before attempting to set eyes on the tree climbing lions of Ishasha. We traverse stunning landscapes before we reach Bwindi National Park, where we will seek out and encounter another rare creature, the Mountain Gorilla. Meal Plan: Half-Board
  • Day 7 - The Gorilla Families Of Bwindi
    After breakfast, we set out for a briefing at the park offices where we are allocated gorilla tracking groups and given tips in preparation for a close encounter with the gentle giants. Guided by an experienced tracker, we brave a challenging trek through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; it may take minutes or hours of pushing through vegetation before we set our eyes on a colossal dominant silverback male and his group. Upon return from the deep forest, you will receive your gorilla tracking certificate, and later, after refreshing at the lodge, set out for a community walk, a charming immersive experience with the local people and a closer look into their culture.   • Day 8 – Journey Back To Kampala/ Entebbe & Equator Experience
    After a fun-filled adventure of seven days, we check out of the lodge and begin our journey to your preferred drop off point in Kampala/Entebbe. Our first stop will be in Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center and Country Hotel followed by a stop at the Uganda Equator for pictures, shopping for souvenirs, crafts and gifts, to take back home to friends and family. Meal Plan: Half-Board
  • Day 9 – Return To Kampala With A Stop At The Equator
    We wake up to a delicious breakfast, our last one in this gorgeous land of rolling hills & dense forests; after which we begin our return to Kampala. Our first stop will be in Mbarara for lunch and our next at the Uganda Equator for pictures & a chance to get a few souvenirs or gifts for family and friends back home.

Overview

  • Day 1 – Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

  • Day 2 – The First Of The Big Five
    Our journey to Murchison Falls National Park begins in the morning. We can’t resist stopping in at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track and spot endangered Rhinos, the first of the Big Five of East Africa. We get the opportunity to track rhinos with experienced guides as a chef prepares a barbeque for us. We travel on and make our grand entry to Murchison Falls River Lodge. Meal Plan: Half-Board
  • Day 3 – Cruising The Savannah & The Nile
    We tour the north of the park, which teems with buffalo, waterbucks, giraffes, hartebeests, and elephants grazing in the grasslands. The diverse wildlife keeps us alert, seeking out one fascinating creature after another. The lucky seeker might even spot the elusive, nocturnal leopard. After lunch, we set out on a launch trip to the base of the falls. Buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, and a multitude of aquatic birds lounge at river banks. Birders are guaranteed to spot many of the 450 bird species at Murchison Falls, including the elusive shoebill, dwarf kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill, and the Goliath Heron. From the base of the fall, we begin our hike, headed for the top. The peak awaits us with an unrivalled symphony of nature set to the crescendo of the waterfall. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 4 – The Primates Of Budongo Forest
    The thriving vegetation of Budongo Forest, just south of Murchison Falls, hosts 24 mammal species, over 360 bird species, 289 butterfly varieties and 465 plant species. This diverse forest is also home to a large primate population, including 800 chimpanzees. Today we set out into the forest to track chimpanzees, but stay alert for signs of black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. At dusk we return to our lodge, savouring a spectacular foray into Budongo Forest. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 5 – Homeward Bound
    We journey back to Kampala/Entebbe, with a lunch-stop en-route. Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch Note: Although we strongly recommend a hike to the top of the falls due to the amazing vantage points, it is optional, and you can instead drive to the top of the falls for viewing.

OVERVIEW

  • Day 1 – Journey To Rwenzori
    From Kampala/Entebbe, we meander westward towards the Rwenzori Mountains Meal Plan: Full-Board or Meal Plan: Half-Board *Travel Time: 35 mins from Airport .
  • Day 2 – Trek Through The Bamboo forest
    Our preparations for the hike begin at Kilembe. Along the steady trek from the valley floor to Sine camp, we meet a multitude of birds and black & white colobus monkeys swinging in the canopies. With luck, we might see L’Hoest monkeys, which are cultural emblems among the Bakonzo and therefore under the protection of Omusinga, the King. The woods bloom with bamboo, flowers, fungi, moss, and hanging vines covered in lichen. We come upon Enoch’s Falls which opens to a breathtaking view. We reach Sine Camp at 2,596 meters above sea level, overlooking Enoch’s Falls and the lush forest beyond. As some travellers enter their rustic wooden huts for the night, others trade tales around a crackling campfire, surrounded by tranquil forest and the open night sky Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 3 – A Valley Of Splendour
    We set off from Sine Camp for a steep climb through bamboo forests interrupted by fruit and berry trees. The call of Crimson winged Rwenzori turaco bird rings through the crisp air. At 3,000 meters, the bamboo gives way to towering heather trees, some 15 meters high. Tucked away in the heather trees is Kalalama Camp, with a view of Lake George in Queen Elizabeth National Park. We continue the climb until we turn and descend to a flat valley of lobelia plants. A short jaunt takes us to Kyra Villa where we again descend to enter Samalira Camp, which is cusped in a small dip carved from the landscape. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 4 – Descent Along Nyamwamba River
    We begin the descent back through the serene bamboo forest, accompanied by bird calls and chimpanzees screeching in the distance. At Omusita Rest Area, we may continue a straight descent or divert to the scenic route, a trail following Nyamwamba River. All paths reunite at the park entrance and we continue from there back to Wild Tracks Overland Camp. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 5 - Departure From Mount Rwenzori
    The mountains of the moon diminish in the rearview mirror, but they loom large in our memories as we return to Kampala and on to Entebbe International Airport. A stop at the Equator presents an opportunity to grab a few souvenirs and gifts from the delectable craft markets. Meal Plan: Half-Board

    In the morning, we resume our journey to Kidepo Valley National park, which is perhaps the last untouched wilderness in Africa. We arrive in time for an evening game drive hoping to spot, among other wildlife, the ever-elusive, nocturnal leopard. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 3 – Among The Nomads
    Our morning game drive gives us a chance to see more wildlife, foraging for food in the cool hours. With luck, we might see ostriches sauntering across the plains. After a delectable lunch at the lodge, we continue our search for the wildlife of the north, and later, seek a cultural experience in a Karamajong village. We learn how, like the untouched wilderness, the nomadic Karamajong remain mostly unsullied by the forces of modernity. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 4 – Hike To the Lomeji Mountain
    With plenty of refreshments and lunch in tow, we set out for a hike to Lamoji Mountain, an opportunity to peer into neighbouring South Sudan and get a magnificent aerial view of Kidepo Valley. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 5 – Return To Kampala
    Today we journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Gulu; Uganda’s second biggest town and a quickly growing hub of activity in Northern Uganda. This peaceful town is an enclave of history and each visit reveals another layer of the years that passed. Meal Plan: Half-Board

  • Day 2 – Into the Wilderness
    In the morning, we set out to the Valley of the Apes, the stunning Kyambura Gorge, which stretches one kilometre across and plunges 100 metres deep. The gorge, which is drained by River Kyambura, is an attractive habitat for primates and a rich diversity of birds. After a briefing, we plunge into the depths of the gorge, tracking habituated chimpanzees as they go about their day. With luck, we will also spot the black & white Colobus Monkeys, Red-Tailed Monkeys, and giant forest hogs. After lunch, we set off on a cruise down the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George to Lake Edward. Warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, buffalo, and elephant lounge in the shallows and along the banks of this laid-back channel, surrounded by aquatic birds. An evening game drive in Kasenyi leads us into the grazing grounds of Uganda Kobs where elephant, waterbucks, lions, and buffalo roam. At dusk, the sunset casts the savannah in a luminous, golden tinge; a truly ethereal sight, and perhaps, an invitation to return. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 3 – Early Morning Game Drive | Return To Kampala
    After a quick breakfast, we head out on an early morning game drive; a chance to spot a few more animals that we might have missed. We return to the lodge after this quick adventure and set out for Kampala. A lunch stop will be made en-route, and another at the equator for some craft shopping. Meal Plan: Half-Board

  • Day 2 - Chimpanzee Tracking | Bigodi Swamp Walk
    In the morning, we receive our briefing at the Kibale National Park headquarters in preparation for our venture into the forest. Through the undergrowth, we track chimpanzees with the help of our guide and encounter other primates, like the black and white colobus monkey, along the way. From the forest, we return to our lodge and recharge. In the afternoon, we set out for a peaceful walk through Bigodi swamp, keeping a keen eye out for the diverse species of birds that call this swamp home. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 3 – Explore The Magical World Of Semuliki National Park
    Today we journey far west into Semliki Wildlife Reserve which hosts lush forestland, making it an attractive habitat for wildlife and a haven for over 400 bird species and 300 butterfly species. After lunch, we visit the famous Sempaya hot springs, easily identified by clouds of steam seen from as far as 2km. The day ends with an evening game drive; our chance to spot elephants, buffaloes, leopards, civet, and scaly-tailed flying squirrels. Meal Plan: Full-Board
  • Day 4 – Transfer Back To Kampala
    After breakfast, we check-out and emerge from the tranquillity of Semliki to head back to Kampala, stopping en-route for lunch. Meal Plan: Half-Board

Jinja is where the source of the Nile is found, don’t be fooled by this sleepy town because it is actually the adventure capital of the country with adrenaline pumping activities like white water rafting, bungee jumping, and quad biking. Enjoy a short trip to Jinja, where you can return to Kampala within the same day or opt to stay for Two-three days.

  • Day 1 – Depart early morning for Jinja, and stop over for a forest walk in Mabira Forest; one of Uganda’s lushest forests home to over 312 tree species with ancient trees 315 bird species, 219 butterfly species, and 23 mammal species. When you arrive in Jinja you can visit the source of the Nile. Transfer to hotel of choice. Meal plan: Full board
  • Day 2 – Activities Feel an adrenaline rush as you explore the mighty RIver Nile either: rafting the grade four and five rapids or quad biking on the banks of the river, or bungee jumping. Meal plan: Full board.
  • Day 3 –Return to Kampala
